Special events

Big House Meeting about House Rules

The big house meeting takes place every last Tuesday of the month. It is the democratic parliament and information forum of Trampoline House, where users, interns, volunteers, and staff update each other on news and discuss urgent issues related to the house or life as a refugee/asylum seeker.

The first part of every meeting is devoted to the work groups of the house (child care, cooking and dishwashing, gardening etc.), who will report about their work and discuss possible changes. The second part is devoted to discussing an urgent issue in depth. This week, the big discussion will be about Trampoline House's 'House Rules'.

Trampoline House's 7th Birthday Party

Trampoline House will be celebrating its 7th birthday party THIS WEEK on Friday the 1st of June! Everybody is welcome – so make sure you come along, and bring your family and friends!

The program will include activities for families and children in the afternoon, live musical performances, a community dinner by Sisters Cuisine, as well as a bar, DJs and dancing late into the night. Buses have been booked to travel back to Sandholm, Sjaelsmark and Avnstrup at midnight.

You can view the full program for the party here, and remember to click attending (and invite your friends!) on our Facebook event, here!

Come and celebrate with us – it's also your house!

Opening of NEW exhibition by Pablo Andres in CAMP gallery

The Birthday Party celebrations will also be combined with the official opening of CAMP's new art exhibition by Pablo Andres – 'William Freeman - you can't hold an angel.'

This exhibition takes a closer look at conditions for LGBTQ asylum seekers from the Global South, who flee to the West thinking that there is freedom and safety for gender and sexual minorities there – only to find a refugee politics that does not always grant them protection and a LGBTQ community where queer men of colour often encounter sexual racism from white queer men.

In photography, video, collage, and objects, the exhibition maps Andres' encounter with homophobia in the Danish asylum process and with racism in the Western gay community.

During the opening, Pablo Andres will give an artist talk and do a performance. The exhibition will then be open for guests' viewing during the birthday community dinner.

CAMP Exhibition Guided Tour

Trampoline House is closed, and there will be no Women's Club on this week. However, the CAMP art gallery will be open from 2:00–5:00 pm, featuring its new exhibition by Pablo Andres, William Freeman – you can’t hold an angel

From 3:00–4:00 pm, there will also be a performative guided tour in the exhibition by the artist. The tour is free, but admission to CAMP is DKK 20 / € 3 / $ 3.

Deportation Centre Guided Tour

Every first Saturday of the month, new interns and volunteers in Trampoline House are offered a guided tour in one of the Danish asylum centres by one of the members of the house. This Saturday, Zohra will guide people around deportation center Sjælsmark, where she lives, from 4:00–5:30 pm. Please meet her in front of the gate to Sjælsmark at 4:00 pm sharp.

All guided tours are free and open to Trampoline House interns and volunteers only. If you attend, you are responsible for covering your own travel expenses. Remember to bring photo ID which you need to present at the entrance.

To register for the tour, please send an email to Nina at no later than two days before the tour.
